Mobilink logo1 Mobilink Customers Will Use Their Prepaid Balance to Buy Windows Phone Apps, Games and MusicVimpelcom, the parent company of Mobilink, has announced an agreement with Microsoft and Nokia to offer operator billing for its customers on Windows Phone devices, said a statement issued by the group.
This exclusive global deal will enable all Mobilink customers (using Windows Phones) to buy apps, games, and music using operator billing. The cost of any purchase will be added to their monthly bill, or deducted from their pre-paid balance.
It merits mentioning here that Mobilink recently announced the launch of three Lumia phones in Pakistan and had hinted future partnerships as well.
The Windows Phone ecosystem is expanding worldwide, with Windows Phone devices rolling out to more than 70 countries over the next 12 months and support for 50 display languages. Furthermore, Windows Phone Store offers more than 125,000 apps and games in 191 countries.
A dedicated operator specific shelf will make it easy for Mobilink customers to navigate their way among the localized content available in the Windows Phone Store. Available via the local Windows Phone Store, the Shelf will feature up to 200 selected applications, tailored to offer local content and services.
Mobile account payments for the Windows Phone Store will be rolled out in VimpelCom’s operations across the globe, starting later on this year.
